6. Can I bring my own sled to Next Level Riding Clinics?
You are welcome to bring your own sled! Whether it is an Arctic Cat, Ski-doo, Yamaha or Polaris. We are here to help you reach your potential as a rider and make the sled work for you…not you getting worked by your sled.
7. What gear do I need to bring to Next Level Riding Clinics?
Check out our “Mandatory Gear List”
8. I want to attend Next Level Riding Clinics, but I can only attend one or two days. Can I still attend?
You can schedule a “Private Snow Session”. The “Snow Session” can be one or two days long. Please keep in mind that it takes repetition to establish a technique. Due to a time limit with a “Snow Session” we will not cover our 3-day clinic curriculum, and will focus on a specific set of skills that are pre-determined by the participant(s) and the instructor. Multiple riders can attend the snow session at the same time. Riders must be of similar riding ability to attend the same “Snow Session”.
9. Can I pay by Check or Money order?
We will accept checks and/or money orders as a form of payment. We require a deposit upon booking your clinic. We accept Master Card, Visa and you are welcome to do a direct wire of the deposit. Call us for more details.
10. How many friends can I bring with me to Next Level Riding Clinics?
Our Forest Service Permit allows ten riders per clinic, accompanied by two instructors. This allows for individual instruction and plenty of drill time on the snow.
11. I don’t have my own snowmobile or can’t bring mine with me. Can I rent one from you?
Next Level Riding Clinics has four 2010 Polaris Assaults to rent for the clinic participants. NLRC sled rental includes a backcountry riding ready AVI Vest, fuel, insurance, and tags. The AVI Vest carries probes, shovel and avalanche beacon. You are responsible to bring your riding gear. See mandatory gear list.
12. Will the clinics be held if it’s snowing out?
The clinics are designed to make you a more effective rider snow or shine. Weather is another element of this sport that riders need to be prepared for. Snow is a big part of the experience!
13. How do I know what level of rider I am? Beginner, intermediate, or advanced?
We provide a Rate-My-Skills Questionnaire on our site. You as a participant will be required to take it. To insure proper placement we ask you to be as honest with yourself regarding your abilities as a rider when taking the questionnaire. Your skill level will determine the level of riders you will be riding with during the clinic and the difficulty of drills you will be participating in. Once on snow, the instructors will perform a skills assessment exercise, which will help them determine your ability level and areas for improvement. Please note that if you have been riding for decades, it does not automatically make you an advanced rider. If you are not honest regarding your skill level, you might not get the full benefit of the clinic.
14. Do I need to bring my own food and water?
You are welcome to bring your own snacks. If you would like to purchase snacks in Alpine, there is a market on the way to the trailhead. We can arrange a quick stop there. Next Level Riding Clinics will provide water bottles, and a lunch. If you prefer to ride with a hydrator please fill it prior to getting to the trailhead.
